Gary and Lisa caught a nice pair of Mahi Mahi and a nice King Mackerel while visiting from Lynn, Massachusetts. The couple fish aboard the Lady K once every year while visiting relatives. It’s the excellent service which keeps them coming back for more. Wonderful catch folks and we can’t wait to fish with you again next year!
VIP angler Mia shows off her Mutton Snapper caught during an afternoon trip. This 34 pound bull Mahi Mahi gave Lady K teen angler, Austin, a nice fight after the fish hit in 50 feet of water. Austin said he felt a fish tap his bait when it hit the bottom and as he reeled, up came this big bull. After the fish was boated, other anglers noticed something “kicking around” in the stomach of the fish and it was assumed that the fish ate a blue runner that may have initially hit Austin’s bait. Back at the cleaning table everyone was surprised to see a whole 16″ Mutton Snapper come out of the fishes stomach. Excellent catch Austin, sure to be a memory of a lifetime!
VIP angler may not have used a Mutton Snapper for bait but sure had his hands full fighting this beautiful 20 plus pound Bull Mahi Mahi on 20 pound spinning tackle. Impeding cold fronts and strong east winds have been pushing the Mahi Mahi in and anglers fishing aboard the Lady K have been catching the fish while either flat lining or using one ounce sliding sinker rigs and sardines for bait. Fish from 5 to 25 pounds have been taken along with large Gray Triggerfish to 7 pounds, Cobia to 25 pounds, Grouper to 20 pounds and Yellow-tail Snapper. Sharks have also been taking their share of anglers fish so be sure you reel fast, real fast.

This week the fishing has really picked for anglers braving choppy conditions both before and after the passing cold front. The northwest winds pushed down huge schools of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish, Then as the winds turned more north and east, schools of Mahi Mahi in the 5 to 15 pound started showing up along with some Gag Grouper and King Mackerel.
Junior angler Dylan gets a helping hand at the display board with Mahi Mahi caught by him and other anglers during an afternoon trip this past weekend. The fish were caught by anglers free-lining or using either a one ounce knocker or sliding rig and a sardine for bait. Excellent job Dylan, keep up the great work!!!
Clear conditions and moderate seas led these lucky anglers to some fantastic Mahi Mahi fishing and a nice Gag Grouper during the Veteran”s Day holiday.
Chilly and choppy conditions brought this group of anglers some nice Mahi Mahi, King Mackerel and even an Atlantic Sharpnose Shark back to the dock. The cleaning table has been very busy preparing fillets for the grill or frying pan.
The birthday girl caught this beautiful bull Mahi Mahi on a light spinning tackle. Is it me or does that fish match her shirt? Great job and Happy Birthday, the crew hopes all your wishes come true throughout the year!
This angler visiting from New Jersey received some excellent tips and instructions which assisted him in boating his first Mahi Mahi.
Big Mahi Mahi like this 17 pound cow caught during Monday’s afternoon trip can be found mingling with the smaller schooling sized fish. This is a wonderful fish to fight as they flash their colors alongside the boat and perform spectacular aerial displays. Don’t let the big one get away, plan a four hour offshore adventure day aboard the Lady K!
A nice pair of 30 plus pound Amberjack will tax your tackle and give your muscles a good work out. Mark landed these heavyweights during an afternoon trip aboard the Lady K and while fishing sardines near the bottom.
Rob nabbed this big Amberjack also while fishing a sardine near the bottom over a local area reef and finally broke in his new fishing rod on a large fish. Great work by all the anglers who worked hard to land these fish!
A great tasting Red Grouper came aboard the Lady K during a recent morning trip by VIP angler Danny, who went home with some wonderful eating fish for lunch.
Although not very plentiful this time of the year, a few King Mackerel have been landed this week by lucky anglers fishing both the morning and afternoon trips. Anglers have also been catching Vermillion snapper, triggerfish and there have also been a few Sailfish hook-ups to add to the mix. During this time of the year the boat has very light crowds so it’s perfect for those anglers who don’t wish to fish a crowded boat. Come on out and have some fun day fishing aboard the Lady K!
