Mid April Fishing Report

With the arrival of more easterly breezes, the Lady K has been having good catches of cobia and mahi mahi during both morning and afternoon trips. The cobia are being caught closer to the bottom and anglers have lost some nice fish to sharks. The dolphin have been caught by anglers fishing the mid-water and surface levels using dead sardines.

Vermillion snapper are also being taken during the calmer mornings as well as a better showing of kingfish. Mutton and Yellow-tail snapper have also been taken along with a mix of large jacks and bonito.  A 58 pound cobia and 53 pound wahoo were brought back to the dock this past week. Both fish were caught by anglers drifting dead sardines and during the afternoon trips.

Although the kingfish haven’t shown up in large numbers yet, evening anglers are catching some fish in the five to eight pound range along with grunts, lane snapper and jacks. There’s plenty of room so come on out today, aboard the Lady K.
