It’s nice to get back to fishing after last week’s weather. It’s even better to find a few kings!

Seasonal VIP angler Rick S. from Iowa caught his very first Mahi Mahi and matched it with a nice King Mackerel to start out the spring fishing season. Many anglers like Rick catch their first saltwater fish species while fishing aboard the Lady K. Our experienced crews offer free tips and techniques to anglers of all ages or skill levels.

Big bull Mahi like the one above should be more common as spring advances. Look for a few days of north-easterly winds and choppy conditions to increase your chances on battling one of these magnificent game-fish while fishing on the Lady K.

African Pompano are another hard fighting game-fish that should be coming around the areas local reefs. These large members of the Jack family are a species of Trevally. They make long, hard, fast runs when first hooked as they seek shelter along the bottom or around wrecks. Expect to catch these fish while letting out a sardine rig for their preferred food is small fish.

The perfect end to a beautiful day includes some fresh Mahi Mahi steaks on the grill after an afternoon trip aboard the Lady K. Anglers fishing on the morning trips can have their catch cleaned at the dock and cooked in the Kona Bay Cafe’ for lunch at a discounted price. For those who may be fishing the afternoon trip, try bringing your fresh catch to the Sushi Bon for an exotic dinner treat. Both restaurants are located less than 100 feet from the dock and are open seven days a week. Welcome to Florida, enjoy your stay as you spend some time fishing the Lady K.
