It’s nice to get back to fishing after last week’s weather. It’s even better to find a few kings!

Mahi Mahi sure made the trip for these lucky anglers while they fished a morning trip aboard the Lady K this Labor Day weekend. What a great way to celebrate Labor Day, fresh grilled Mahi Mahi sandwiches!! Anglers also caught King Mackerel, Bonito and an assortment of bottom fish such as the delicious Gray Triggerfish. Great catch folks, you should all be proud – we are!!

VIP angler, Lee, caught this 9 pound Mutton Snapper while fishing during an afternoon trip aboard the Lady K. The fish ate a free-lined sardine which is proof that you don’t have to fish the bottom for nice snapper. Other fish caught by anglers included King Mackerel, Bonito, and assorted bottom species  such as Porgies, Graysby Grouper and Gray Triggerfish.  Excellent catch Lee, we are looking forward to seeing some more nice catches by you and all our anglers. See ya soon!

The evening bite picked up this Labor Day weekend as these young anglers show. Nice Mutton Snapper where taken along with Lane Snapper, Grunts and Gray Triggerfish leaving anglers with fishing fever for the week. Anglers have been having the best results using squid, sardines and other cut bait for bait while fishing bottom rigs.

Come on out this Labor Day for any one of our three daily scheduled trips or make a day of it and fish two trips. Anglers fishing two or more trips at the regular price will receive three dollars off the next trip on the same day, an excellent deal for a full day of fishing off the Southern Palm Beach County coast. Join us as we continue searching for Mahi Mahi, King Mackerel, Grouper, Snapper and all the other great sport fish Florida has been famous for. Everything is included at one low price, just bring your own snacks and drinks (water is provided) and anglers are always welcome to bring their own tackle. Everyone at BarJack Fishing and the crews of the Lady K wish everyone a very happy and safe Labor Day weekend!

While searching for King Mackerel and Snapper, the captains of the Lady K have been finding nice Cobia, a big surprise for some lucky anglers. The Cobia will often travel in pairs or small pods of a dozen fish or so. Having a bait close to the boat and jigged around a little could be just enough to entice a following fish to eat. Cold-weather Cobia always receive warm-hearted hugs back at the dock like the 45 pound fish pictured above.

In addition to the passing of the cold fronts, the Lady K has been releasing quite a few Atlantic Sailfish this week. Fish up to seven feet long have been hitting sardines free-lined for King Mackerel by anglers fishing medium-heavy spinning tackle in the 15 to 25 pound line classes. Bottom fishing has been producing good numbers of Porgies, Gray Triggerfish and other reef fish while knocker rigs continue to jig up King Mackerel of  various weight classes.

Come on out and cast a line for a chance to hook that catch of a lifetime. Our experienced crews will serve all your angling needs, from tying on rigs and baiting hooks to fishing tips and techniques. The low-cost of your four-hour excursion includes every you need for an enjoyable angling experience, just bring your favorite beverage and some snacks or grab a Fisherman Special to go from the Kona Bay Cafe located right at the dock. Have a great day fishing aboard the Lady K.
