Captain James looks on as a young angler displays a nice Mangrove snapper brought aboard the Lady K during a recent night trip. The fish ate a half sardine using a double hook rig that our mate Derek rigged up for the young angler. The fish weighed in at five pounds back at the dock.
The night bites have brought in a few King mackerel, nice Triggerfish, Lane snapper and a lot of grunts. Using bottom rigs and cut squid will keep anglers busy reeling in grunts, snapper and triggerfish while sardine rigs will be an anglers best bet for King mackerel.
